Bali

3 weeks in Bali! Despite it being rainy season, Bali is still a great place to visit this time of year! It would rain for maybe a day and then be sunny for a week. Or we would just have an hour shower in the late afternoon. A little rain though helps limit the visitors this time of year which in turn, makes everything much more accessible without much planning.

Other must do |

  • SMP Negeri 2 Sukasada Temple, beautiful on a lake, it is more like a botanical gardens

  • Bali Handara Gate in Sukasada-Pancasari - temple gates with the mountains in the background, beautiful drive through the country to get there from Canggu

  • Bali Swing, the original one, this is really funny. You can rent dresses and there are actually 7 swings. It was $35USD for all day. We only did a couple of them, but honestly, worth the photo. It is very pretty

  • Tegallalang Rice Paddies, kind of sad it is all tourists now but still really neat to see. Really close to Ubud.

  • Rent a scooter, I rented a scooter in Ubud just because it had less traffic than in Canggu. It was really fun and pretty to drive through the countryside. It costs about 70,000 IDR for 24 hours.

  • Mt. Batur sunrise hike, we started hiking at 3am in order to get to the top around 5:30am. You can see the sunrise behind the other mountains directly across the valley. We also saw wild monkeys on the trek down. Highly recommend.

  • Beji Griya Waterfall, about a 20 minute scoot ride from Ubud. You can't swim but it is beautiful and holy. It is neat to see how the indigenous people use the waterfall for different purposes.

  • Blangsinga Waterfall - you can swim at the bottom and also go in the holy section where water pours on your head. It is about 100 steps down but well worth it.

  • Sacred Monkey Forest - watch your stuff
