Fremantle

Fremantle is a neighborhood in Perth, about 30 minutes on the train. It sits right on the ocean, although, there are prettier beaches elsewhere in the city. We stayed here for 2 nights.

• Little Creatures Brewery

Rottnest Island

AMAZING!!!!!! Spend the entire day here, there is so much to see. If you can, try and even stay the night. We took the fast ferry from Fremantle and it was only about 30 minutes compared to about an hour from downtown Perth. Also, be sure to reserve bikes from the ferry company. This is the best way to get around the island.

• Take a selfie with a Quokka - the happiest animals on Earth

• Go beach hunting, there are so many pristine beaches you no doubt will be amazed (we rode our bikes from the Visitor Center to Salmon Bay and back)

• Then go to Bathurst Lighthouse, another great beach plus a restaurant to grab some lunch

• Pinky Beach!

Swan Valley

Perth’s closest wine region. You can take the train from downtown Perth to the Swan Valley visitor center or call an Uber. Be sure to reserve the bikes in advance, but you can pick them up from the Visitor Center. They will offer you a map and water and then you are off! It is so fun riding bikes to all the different wineries because you are on your own schedule. We asked for recommendations and below are the stops that we did. We started around 12:30 and finished around 5:30pm.

• Up to Douglas Road to cross the river

• Sitella (known for their sparkling)

• Taylor’s Art & Coffee House

• Mandoon Estate

Downtown Perth

• Fringe World Fest - we just happen to be here during the annual comedy festival

• Walk around the harbor

Margaret River area

Downtown Margaret River

If you love wine, then you must come down here. It is winery on winery on winery, all just as nice as the next.

• Cape Mentelle movie in the vineyard

• Book a tour, we used Bushtucker Wine & Brewery Tours

Dunsborough

A beautiful coastal beach town!

Other must do |

• Suntan on the beautiful sand bar

• Hire a stand up paddle board

• Walk around town and go shopping in the boutiques

• Eat all the amazing healthy food

• Have a night at the Dunsborough Tavern
